How Schudio helped Carr Hill High School completely revolutionise their online presence.

THE BACKGROUND

The sense of community, pride and respect for one another is evident as you walk around our school. We all pursue excellence because we have a pride in what we stand for. Our school exists for its students – to give them an education that will help prepare them for adult life in the modern world. To encourage a thirst for knowledge that will hopefully continue beyond compulsory schooling. We aim to help develop an understanding of justice, of right and wrong and those values which help create a decent society. We strive to provide an environment in which their talents and abilities can thrive. Our new secondary school website was design to capture all these wonderful things.

THE CHALLENGE

We needed a website that was user friendly and easy to navigate. That was important whether visitors were current or prospective students, parents, carers or staff. It was also important that the website looked modern, was in line with our school branding and responsive across all devices.

THE SOLUTION: NEW SCHOOL WEBSITE, SCHUDIO SCHOOL WEBSITE SOFTWARE

Schudio staff worked with us to develop a site which was split into three easy to navigate sections. We now have a Students, Parents & Carers tab, a Join our School tab and a Sixth Form tab on our homepage. This enables site visitors to quickly and easily locate the area of the website and subsequently the page/information they need to access.

For a user perspective, the dashboard is simple to operate and designed with schools in mind. Daily tasks such as uploading news stories, listing vacancies and updating policies have become simple and hassle-free to complete.

THE RESULTS

Feedback from website visitors is overwhelmingly positive. Current parents comment on how easy it is to access the information they need. Prospective parents often tell us what a great first impression the website gives.

We have also been impressed with the support on offer from Schudio staff. No question is too silly or too small to answer and staff are quick to respond to queries with friendly and easy to follow advice.

THE FUTURE

We look forward to working with Schudio in the future to further develop our new school website offer for our school community.

SCHOOL:

We are a large school of around 1,200 students primarily serving the area of Kirkham and surrounding locations. Our students come from a number of local primary schools in to Year 7 or join us later in their education. We are very proud to have a Sixth Form Centre with around 150 students and offer a range of vocational and academic courses for those choosing to continue their studies with us.
